My video matched the specifications of the brief well it was over five minutes long and was exported as MPEG2 DVD and FLV formats at a suitable bit rate which is visible in the previous post.
The video was edited in terms of suitable content which was determined by my Storyboards and other planning documents e.g. Log Sheets.
I believe that my video addressed my chosen target audience which was primarily people wanting to join the course as it showed multiple areas of both the Art and Design course and the Interactive Media course as I followed an art and design tutor around for a day filming what they do in their daily lives.
If I was to redo my TV program I would try and get the filming done earlier than n I did this time due to unforeseen problems that have accrued e.g. the amount of useful footage that I was able to get.
I would also try to incorporate longer shots into the video than I have.
I would also include an interview with the person that I was following and record the majority of the sound separately.

I chose the footage by getting rid of most of the shots where the camera moved an unnecessary amount.
I alos got rid of the shots with offensive language or unnecessary comments in the background.

Program Logo
I decided to call my program for the TV assignment Life because my program focuses primarily on A Day in the Life of someone.

30 Second Draft
This is a draft of the first sequence of my video for the College TV channel DGTV. All I was really trying to do here was to get some idea of what the video would look like if I added a banner with my shows logo on at the bottom of the video. I still have to go through the useful footage that I compiled and cut little sections like the sound in this video.
But any comments left will be read and taken into consideration for the production of my final edit.

DGTV/College TV Logo

5 Shot Rule
The 5 shot rule consists of ;
- Close Up of the Face.
- Close Up of the Hands.
- Over the Shoulder.
- Wide Angle Shot.
- Creative Shot.

The purpose of the five shot rule is to make sure that you capture footage that can be edited together easily.

TV program proposal, the purpose of producing this TV program is as advertisment for the art and design course in the format of following an art and design tutor around for the day.
This video/program will be produced for DVD in MPEG2 format and for the Web at 320 x 240 in FLV flash format.
I will be producing a documentary type in which I will follow a tutor around for the day as they do presentations and demonstrations for their classes.
The target audience of the TV program that I will be producing will mainly be people interested in studying art and design at Stephenson College. This will be the primary target audience as it will show people the type of things that they would have to do when taking an art and design course at Stephenson College.
This proposal has been amended after consulting with my tutor and fellow students who are producng programs in a similar area as a Day in the Life.

Deaf Signer Video 4 Annotations
The video below is version 4 of the deaf signer video all I have altered in this version is the scale of the two video elements.
After having published this once I now feel that the section of the video with the deaf signer may be to large in comparison to the main section of the video.

Deaf Signer Video 3 Annotations
Creating this version of the deaf signer video was easier to do after adding a backlight to the blue screen.
Having the backlight for this version of the video greatly reduced the difficulties that I was having trying to key out only the blue screen.
This made the Chroma Keying easier to do because the backlight ensured that the deaf signer had a definite outline so only the blue screen was keyed out.
Changing model has also helped me to key out only the blue screen because the subject/deaf signer did not have a grey outline after keying.

The video below is another version of the earlier deaf signer video however with this version I have added a second CHroma Key to the video of the deaf signer to try and get rid of the grey outline to the signer.

I began by filming someone Acting like a deaf signer as a replacement for a real deaf signer as this was only a test.
The actual video was created in the same way as previous videos by adding the base footage onto layer two and then placing the video footage of the deaf signer of layer three so that it appeared above the base footage after being Chroma Keyed.
I also watched an experiment by the tutor at trying to alter the tone and colour of the blue screen to make it easier to Key out this was relatively successful however the Chroma Key kept keying out sections of the signers hair.

Virtual Studio Annotations
The virtual studio task was slightly more straight forward than the previous task of creating a studio in Fireworks.
I created the studio in Carrara 4 Pro by to begin with;
I added an infinite plain to the floor of the modelling space.
I then added a cylinder primitive to the virtual area which was then flattened and stretched to the required shape and height for the virtual studio.
This was then followed by numerous cube primitives which were also transformed/stretched to create the walls for my virtual studio.
I then added a spotlight to the virtual area which I altered by going into the lights settings and setting soft shadows to on and adjusting them to create more natural looking shadows for objects in the virtual studio.
I then rendered the final studio without skylight and indirect lighting so that the render would take as little time as possible as this was only a test to so how a virtual studio could be produced using Carrara.
The studio that I created in Carrara 4 Pro was more believable than the desk and backgrounds that can be created using Adobe Fireworks.
The main difference between creating a studio in Fireworks and Carrar 4 Pro is that any footage that is going to be used in its creation must be at the same angle as the render of the virtual studio produced in Carrara.
This meant that we had to use a larger tripod to record the correct angled footage for use in the virtual studio video.
The video below was relatively successful at creating a realistic looking virtual studio.
This outcome could have been made more realistic if I had further experience with Carrara however I feel that the background that I created in Fireworks was possibly more believable as it had a less placed look to it beside the desk.
The only problems that I encountered whilst creating this video were trying to get rid of all the sections of blue screen I solved this by adding multiple Chroma filters in the video filters section of Adobe Premiere to the video.

The reason it had to be exported as a PNG so that the area behind the desk (canvas) could be made transparent.
The video was then created using a similar process as the earlier video on this blog by using the chroma key settings under the keying effects under video effects in Premiere.
These elements were placed into an order on Fireworks so that the video looked like a news room this was done by placing the video on the layer two, the foreground on layer three and the background on the layer one.
The result of the compilition of these elements was acceptable however it could have been better if the quality of the video had been better but due to using windows media player the quality is relatively poor.

Blue Screen Annotations
The video below is the work that has been completed in this afternoons session and is an example of how the blue screen can be used to place a video over a static image.
I created the video using the Chroma Key setting under Keying in the video effects menu of Adobe Premiere Pro.
This could be useful in the video production unit for interviews with students or who ever to ensure that the background can be altered or a new background can be placed to create the desired effect or a similar effect.

Video Planning Practice
Today we have also been learning how to fill out the neccesary forms for video production including;
Shooting Schedule and Call Sheets which are basically video production versions the dope sheets that we used for stop motion animation.
However these sheets are far simplar and easier to follow than dope sheets.

Today we Spent the start of the session coming up with ideas for program types and names.
We came up with a variety of different ideas including;
An animation programm that would be used to show students work.
Short comedy clips.
A news program called SCN including sport, weather, interviews and announcements.
A student Life program with interviews, a tour, information on college trips, a day in the life program, soap operas local music or a virtual band as well as students work.
Adverts for inside and outside the college.
We also had a story hour type of thing as well as a variety of other ideas including,
a Tutorial section.
After selecting ideas for the type of program we came up with names for each.
We also mind mapped ideas for the name of the TV station with the most popular
STV, SCS, Mini Feed, Plug in TV, The Big S, Sound, Wizard, View, Wicked and Dead Good being put to public vote via questionaire.
Dead Good was eventually selected however it was altered to Dead Good TV and then further to DGTV with the tag line Dead Good Television which defeats the point of changing the name from Dead Good TV to DGTV.

Blog Set up
This blog was created for the purpose of annotating for unit 111, setting up this blog was simple however i prefer the standard pen and paper annotation method.
